Chelsea have finally revealed their new away shirt and while many fans love the new kit there are some who think it looks very similar to the club's home shirt

Chelsea have launched their new away shirt to a big reaction on social media.

The Blues have revealed the sponsor-free strip to a raucous reception and following on from their home kit release, fans will be able to buy the kit without a sponsor. It's been reported that Chelsea have an agreement with American technology giants, Infinite Athlete, in a deal worth at least £40m per season however this is still waiting to be signed off by the Premier League.

The away shirt's reveal has been greeted with almost universal acclaim from supporters and many took to X to voice their opinions with @CFCDestanee confidently asking "Is this the best away kit in world football this season?". Many more bold claims followed such as @iSlimfit adding "The new Chelsea away kit is the finest kit I’ve seen this season".

More reactions on X kept flooding after the shirt reveal with @chelseadailycfc declared it's "The most fire Away Kit this season" while @cfckel posted "Chelsea’s new away kit What a thing of beauty". @ChelseaContent_ said simply added "It's here and it's perfect".

Contrasting pitch blue and soar shades, the diamond geometric patterning on the fresh design is inspired by Chelsea’s heritage ‘90s kits and the glamour of the King’s Road but brings an aesthetic that does not shy away from the cutting edge. You can get the shirt without the front sponsor now.

From £54.95

The fact the shirt is still yet to feature a sponsor potentially means the strip could become a limited edition once Chelsea announce their new sponsor. Fans have often dreamed of their club's kits being brandless and Chelsea fan @charliepatrick0 voiced their delight on X posting "Another chance to grab a sponsorless shirt!!"

Amid all the rave reviews for the shirt, several fans have noticed a rather bizarre quirk with the away shirt in that it bears a resemblance to the club's home strip and there has been some doubts echoed over whether the shirt is actually too similar. Blues fans on X noticed the similar colourway of both shirts with @IyawoChelsea saying "Home & Away kit are the same color (Sic)" while @inkredible_h backed the other poster up and said "It defeats the purpose of away kits since it's 50% color with the home kit Looks beautiful tho (Sic)".

@chopper248 also concurred, posting "Chelsea breaking the mould there by releasing a blue away kit in stark contrast to their home kit which is *checks notes* also blue." As with the home shirt release, Chelsea have said that fans will have the chance to purchase a sponsor branded shirt, once it's announced, but they will not be able to offer a shirt exchange.

Chelsea said: "There is currently no 'front of shirt' branding. If a 'front of shirt' partner is announced in the future, fans will have the opportunity to purchase this version via our Megastore or online store. Unfortunately, we cannot offer fans the opportunity to return blank shirts for partner branding to be applied post-purchase."
